Rhyming verse

If of me you sometimes think/ Send me back by bow of pink./ If of me you sometimes dream/ Send me back my bow of green./ If with me you will be friend/ Send me back my bow of creme./ If for me your love is true/ Send me back my bow of blue./ If to me you would be wed/ Send me back my bow of red./ If for me there is no hope/ Send me back my bow of rope.

Mrs "Bubbles" van Wyk of Paarl says that this card (top left) William Herbert sent to her great-grandmother Helena. The couple married in 1884.

February 1924

This card (bottom left  was made by Mrs van Wyk's grandmother, Helen Herbert and sent to her future husband Hendrik Moller. The card contained the poem below.
